The invention discloses a preparation method of modified nano silica dispersion for drilling fluid, and the nano silica NS-1 product for drilling fluid is prepared by this method. NS-1 is a hydrophilic modified nano silica dispersion with strong hydrophilicity, good dispersion and good salt resistance. Its particle size distribution is in the range of 1-100 nm, which can effectively plug the nano pores of shale; its particles surface have a large number of unsaturated bonds, which can improve the dispersion and suspension of clay and barite at high temperature through interaction, prevent the high-temperature thickening process, greatly reduce the low speed viscosity of high-density drilling fluid at high temperature. In addition, NS-1 can improve the compactness of mud cake and reduce the HTHP filtration. NS-1 has good compatibility, non-toxic and environment-friendly, and can be directly added into various water-based drilling fluid systems.
